Bronzeoak, a leading developer in the bioethanol and bioenergy sectors, has been active internationally since 1995 and has successfully developed, owned and operated significant projects in both sectors. The bioethanol programme in SE Asia focuses on sustainable feedstocks, proven technologies and lowest-cost production. The bioenergy programme in the UK and internationally focuses on large-scale plants, proven technology and flexible capacity for a variety of biomass fuels.
All projects are developed to world-best sustainability and environmental standards with best-in-class energy balances and greenhouse gas reductions.
Bioethanol
Following on from successful development in the Philippines, Bronzeoak is developing other bioethanol projects in the tropical zones of SE Asia. Key investment criteria for this programme are:
- Targeted domestic and international markets for bioethanol with lowest-cost production
- Use of tropical feedstock – sugarcane, sweet sorghum and cassava
- Competitive production and delivery costs
- Large-scale projects to provide benefits of scale and dilution of infrastructure and logistics costs. Control of plantation output and feedstock costs – through contract and investment in, and management of, plantations
- Standardised design and use of proven technology and experienced contractors. Ability to retro-fit next generation technologies
- Optimisation of energy and water cycles
- World best-in-class CO2 reductions and sustainability
Bioenergy
Bronzeoak’s strategy is to build, own and operate a portfolio of 5-25MWe bioenergy projects in strategic regional locations.
In Indonesia and the Philippines, Bronzeoak is developing a portfolio of bioenergy projects using agricultural, forestry and agro-industrial resources as fuel. These will all feed into the local grid distribution systems and will support the growth of the local rural economies.
